38. More news

So my birthday turned up a fine surprise in the shape of a Hornby Peckett W4. What a beauty she is. I’d seen one at Rob’s Christmas bash and just couldn’t resist it when the price dropped again. Here’s Clipboard Charlie making another list as she gets another once over (twice over?) Below, a view of the workshop siding with three old Parkside kits being run up into something usable. New wheels, buffers, and couplings. Improved brake gear when possible. Nothing too complex, just improving these old kits.

More news soon

A nearly next project on this layout is a yard or so of bespoke 2mm scale palisade fencing 😮... Moving up to 4mm scale, the bothy has been a joy to build, paint, and now detail. Plumbing and gutters are going on now. Further Intentio products should be arriving soon, so watch this space. “But you don't have a 4mm scale layout!”, says the voice in my head. “What are you building these things for?” Well, there is a plan called Johnstone’s Wharf, which was based on a Scales Scenes box file kit, but the demise of the printer has pos...
